When you hear the term “twin cities,” you might think of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. But Pittsburgh once had its own twin: it was called Allegheny City, and it occupied the land now known as the North Side. 100 years ago this week, Pittsburgh won a long-standing battle to annex Allegheny.
